Algebra 1
For My first period class I have algebra 1. In algebra my teacher, Mr. Erickson, explains how to do problems but in a way that almost everybody can understand. Like a problem like, 2x+8/4=4 would be a pirate problem, or the steps of how a pirate buried his treasure. there is also tug of war with good guys (+) and bad guys (-) If the good guys (+) lose (-) 6, and the bad guys (-) gain (+) 23 then the problem would read, -6-23=x, We (the class) would have to solve for "x". In my perspective algebra is fun but it is also hard.
These are the symbols that you use when you are comparing to numbers.
Projects
Patterns

This is my first project in algebra, this project deals with patterns and how to figure out what the hundredth image will be when you are just given the first three or four. on the far right of the picture in the center is a table, this table shows how the pattern progresses with each new image. Using this table we are able to figure out the equation for the pattern. With the equation we were able to figure out what the hundredth pattern would look like by plouging in the nummbers in place of the variables. The paragraphs that you see are answers to questions that we were required to answer in order to get full credit for the project. One question was, "How do you know what the equation was without looking at the table?" this question was answered in the longest paragraph that is writen on the project.
Math project number 2: Programing a computer to do math

With my group in algebra 1 we did a project on programing a computer to do math. The project was easier said than done. We used a spread sheet and inserted the numbers to an equation in where they were meant to be and the computer figured out the answer. The hard part was the actual programing of the computer. There were other elements of the computer project that relied on the programer finishing early like the flowchart, the history, and what the oresenter was going to say and/or do while they presented
